Friday's Featured (Songs of the Week 3rd September)

Biffy Clyro - Unknown Male 01

Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro dropped a surprise single with Unknown Male 01. Ringing in at six minutes, the trio have created a cinematic track which displays all of Biffy's finest traits. Picking up where they left off from last year's masterpiece, A Celebration Of Endings, Unknown Male 01 is an amalgamation of Biffy's understanding of ambience combined with the most angst filled instrumentation the band have displayed in quite some time. The lead guitar riff from Simon Neil is one of his best yet.

Masked Wolf - Razor's Edge (ft. X Ambassadors)

An acoustic laden rap banger sums up Razor's Edge. Featuring haunting vocals from X Ambassadors in the hook, Masked Wolf shows his ability to constantly level up on every release. The allure of Masked Wolf's rapid fire flow combined with some slick lyricism is something to be praised highly.

Rag'n'Bone Man - Alone (Nothing But Thieves remix)

Two worlds have collided with this showcase of British talent. Rag'n'Bone Man had written Alone, the heartfelt track about the pressure of women having to settle down, earlier this year and has now revamped it with the help of Southend outfit Nothing But Thieves. The combination of both Rag'n'Bone and vocalist Conor Mason is a match made in heaven and it adds a heap of emotion onto an already powerful song.
