Friday's Featured (Songs of the Week 27th August)

YUNGBLUD - fleabag

Doncaster dynamo YUNGBLUD displays his versatility once again with grunge infused fleabag. The track expresses the angst of having too much expectation placed upon you and that idea is well captured throughout. The riffs provide a modern day Nirvana feel with their relentless distortion and there's a surprise guitar solo filled with energy.

Charlie Steel - Sunrise

Music is at its best when it is relatable and this is an aspect Charlie Steel nails time and time again. His latest effort Sunrise provides clever storytelling about making the best of the smaller things in life, complimented by an uptempo instrumental. Steel displays a natural gift to match his flow with any beat presented whilst delivering a contagious hook which repeats in your head for days on end. Get prepared to add Sunrise to your playlist.

BANKS - Skinnydipped

After a two-year absence, Californian artist BANKS has returned with the empowering Skinnydipped, an alluring song about moving on from negative situations. The 33-year-old's melting vocals lay perfectly over the skipping drums of the trip hop beat and makes for a track which anyone can vibe with. An exciting return to music leaves us wanting more of BANKS as soon as possible.
