Bullet For My Valentine - Rainbow Veins

Welsh metal giants Bullet For My Valentine continue to drip feed fans with segments of their upcoming self titled album and Rainbow Veins is a colossal piece of the puzzle. The five minute stomper portrays BFMV refining their craft and their ability to create a cohesive yet rip-roaring song has never been better. Rainbow Veins is an edge of your seat listen, where vocalist/guitarist Matt Tuck manipulates his performance from the downright eerie to the powerhouse he's cemented as in the metal community. Lyrical content about the struggles of life and the need to self medicate is a generally relatable topic which adds grit to an already monstrous track.

Skylar Grey, Polo G, Mozzy and Eminem - Last One Standing

The combination of vocalist Skylar Grey and rap legend Eminem is already a proven recipe for success, but adding in rising star Polo G and Californian cult hero Mozzy makes Last One Standing a truly great hit. Skylar Grey proves again she is the master of hooks with the catchy "I had to fall so many times/Now I'm the last one standing" supplying the undertone for hard hitting rap verses throughout the song. Polo G enters with more gravel than usual, combined with moments of his iconic melodic rap style. Mozzy tells a tale about bouncing back from turbulent times with a swagger infused flow to give Last One Standing further depth. Eminem arguably steals the show with a rapid yet jagged flow, showing how comfortable he can be on any beat, as well as heartfelt lyrics about the struggles of fame beyond the surface.

Sam Fender - Spit Of You

Rising indie rock star Sam Fender continues to show his undeniable range with the laidback anthem Spit Of You. Sam touches on the subject of father and son relationships and how communication can be difficult. A stirring topic poetically portrayed within the reflective guitar pattern which allows the lyrics to stay at the forefront. A nice touch is the saxophone solo which brings the song to a touching close and the listener a moment of lamentation. Witnessing Sam Fender's diversity and mature songwriting makes the imminent release of his next album, Seventeen Going Under, even more exciting.
